About The Lost Skills Project

We want to find out about different ways of approaching design problems, through observing and learning haptic skills.

By engaging with the skills of making, mending, gardening, sewing, knitting, embroidering, cooking, building, carving,  from outside the established skills taught in the art school and design community.

By creating inclusive events and workshops we hope to learn and improve the way we think about design and making.

We are based in the art school at Regent Street, part of Glyndwr University. We will be organising events at various stalls in the Butcher’s Market in Wrexham  town centre.

I am personally thrilled that events like this are taking place in Wrexham – this will certainly help to lift the curtain back and dispel any elitist myths. There are so many useful skills that we learn through necessity and through love- many of which are creative and can be built upon to help develop us as individuals and as a creative community. Three cheers to Glyndwr for arranging this milestone project.
